Angela Shippen is a makeup artist based between Los Angeles and San Francisco, specializing in natural and elevated makeup for on-set work and creative use of color. She is also available for light hairstyling. Angela is available for makeup for photography, film, live tv, video production, fashion, beauty, e-commerce, executives, editorial, celebrity, red carpet, headshots, private events, premieres, live performances, music festivals, theater and more. She loves to travel and also works as a local anywhere she can stay with family including Maui, San Diego, and Las Vegas, as well as New York and Spain.
Angela's journey into makeup began in 2016 when she was living in Spain. Initially motivated by a desire to make friends and learn Spanish, Angela discovered her true passion: makeup. She honed her skills at Bajobé Makeup Studio, under the guidance of celebrity makeup artist Maria Nebrera. Angela's style is characterized by a timeless, natural and elegant approach with modern and playful touches.
Angela believes makeup is an extension of one's personality or brand. Her goal is to preserve the unique essence and authenticity of each individual she works with while enhancing their natural beauty. She's a fan of color, glitter and playful touches when appropriate. Angela prioritizes creating a positive and empowering experience for everyone in her chair, embracing her motto: "Makeup is a Mood Booster."
One of Angela's greatest strengths is her ability to provide a safe and calm space for her clients. Her openness and sensitivity towards others have become her purpose, with makeup serving as the bridge to connect with people. Angela understands the importance of building professional and trusting relationships with her clients and takes pride in working effectively and efficiently while helping everyone feel comfortable and confident on set.
Angela has trained with top brands such as MAC Cosmetics, Tom Ford Beauty, Make Up For Ever, NARS Cosmetics, and 3INA Makeup. She holds a BA in Fashion Merchandising from Cal-State Long Beach and a Certificate in Beauty Industry Essentials from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She has a certificate in K-Beauty Makeup from Jung Saem Mool Academy in Seoul, South Korea where she trained under the "Mother of K-Beauty", Jung Saem Mool (Dec 2024).
