Angela Shippen is a makeup artist based between San Francisco and LA, specializing in commercial advertising, beauty, fashion and editorial productions. Known for refined, skin-forward makeup, a calm on-set presence, and an intentional approach to beauty, Angela creates thoughtful, harmonious makeup that bridge contemporary sophistication with the practical demands of commercial production. Her work is guided by how skin, light, texture, and color interact, allowing her to create polished, natural beauty.

Angela approaches every application with intention, making confident, efficient decisions that serve both the individual and the environment in which the work is being created. Rather than following a formula, she quickly assesses the face, the lighting, the styling, and the story being told, to create makeup that looks, and feels, authentic, elevated and effortless.

Beyond the makeup, Angela believes makeup is as much about how someone feels as how they look. She is committed to creating a calm and positive experience, built on trust, that helps everyone in her chair feel comfortable, confident and radiant.

Angela began her career while living in Madrid, Spain, where she trained at Bajobé Makeup Studio under the guidance of celebrity makeup artist Maria Nebrera. Since then, she has continued to refine her craft through advanced education. She holds a BA in Fashion Merchandising from Cal-State Long Beach, a Certificate in Beauty Industry Essentials from the Fashion Institute of Technology, and a Certificate from Jung Saem Mool Academy in Seoul, South Korea where she studied under the "Mother of K-Beauty". She is a regular backstage for both NYFW and PFW, assisting Diane Kendal, Dick Page and Peter Philips. In 2025, she served as Key Makeup for GAP x Harlem's Fashion Row. Angela has worked with MAC Cosmetics, Tom Ford Beauty, NARS Cosmetics, Make Up For Ever and 3INA Makeup.

In addition to her work on-set, Angela creates educational beauty content and partners with brands on product education, social campaigns, and consulting.
